Chris Gerrits, as Deputy Mayor of the
Township of Amaranth, has been instrumental
in advancing the required approvals for
Blackwood's large scale industrial development
on 2nd Line, paving the way to secure a key
tenant like Kal Tire Limited for their new
410,000 sf distribution centre.
This is only the first phase of a larger
development that will bring both employment
and tax revenue to the Township of Amaranth.

Details
This facility, along with an adjacent development on the same lands will generate the following for the Township in the next 12 - 18 months;
- up to 140 new jobs
- approximately $800,000 per year in additional tax revenue
- roughly $1.5 million in one-time Development Charge fees
- upgrades to existing infrastructure including a realignment of 2nd line and signalized intersection will be paid for by the developer.
